Did you see Lance's Review?
Thank you all for your support to get to this place. So stoked!!! Lance kindly let me share his graphs from his review here and thought it would be useful to capture it. Go straight to minute 10:41 if you are short on time. Background: Lance's video of tireless tasting 30 espressos explores how espresso basket size affects extraction and taste by testing four sizes (36mm, 46mm, 49mm, and 58mm) with A: constant bed depth and B: constant dose. It includes blind tastings and da

Grind size adjustment with grammage
Here is a graph of the grind size adjustment for different grammages with the 46mm basket. For this test I kept constants: 1:2 ratio, 9 bar and then aimed for 30s. If to fast a flow I went finer to adjust until I got 30s. I have kept the error range in there. For comparison, at 10g, the grind size is similar to my IMS competition, 58mm. Here the grind settings for 30s flow - left to right: 10g, 14g, 18g And here the pucks - left to right: 22g, 18g, 14g, 10g

Grind setting change with basket diameter, at constant 1:2 ratio, 9bar, 30s
I used 4 baskets with different diameter to test the grind size adjustment. I kept all other variables constant, like flow rate, pressure and time of shot. Some things of note: My 50mm basket is a high flow version - more on that later. 58mm basket is an IMS compeition 46mm is my GRAPH 36mm is a prototype made be me Please note, I have shown inside diameter of the basket - 36mm, 46mm, 50mm (aka 49 in the La Pavoni world where dimension was based on the tamper rather than ID),

QC of parts
Fine adjustment ahead of manufacturing run. Tamper base plate dimension 45.8mm +-0.1mm. And fit of the funnel for minimal gap ~0.25mm.
